Lemonade Diet | Cleansing & Rapid Weight Loss

The lemonade diet is a fasting plan that can give you rapid weight loss. It was created by Stanley Burroughs who was a proponent of various health remedies. The diet was formed more than 50 years ago. It was created as a detoxification program and was known as the “master cleanser” during the 1940s.

How it worksThe diet claims that the fasting technique it uses helps get rid of the toxins and chemicals in the body that have been induced by bad diet, lack of exercise and negative attitudes.

Basically the lemonade diet is a liquid diet wherein you are to drink 6 to 12 glasses of the lemonade daily. You are not to take anything else through out the diet. You are allowed however to take a laxative tea twice a day or a saline wash. The laxative can help since the lack of fiber in the diet can lead to constipation.

The weight loss that takes place is not fat loss but water loss. This means that much of the weight that you have lost can come back once you stop the diet.

Exercise is not addressed in this diet but come to think of it, you will not be having enough energy to exercise on a liquid diet anyway.
