Rice diet | Eat Rice and Lose Weight

The rice diet is a very low calorie low fat plan that is said to give rapid weight loss by reducing your fat, calories and sodium or salt intake.

How it beganThe rice diet was first created in a clinic on 1939 in Durnham, North Carolina. For over 70 years, there have been several books in print about diet and its benefits. The outpatient clinic treated patients that have been suffering from weight related diseases like heart disease, diabetes, obesity, hypertension and many others and this is done through exercise, group therapy, stress management and diet.

There is also an online store where you can buy a wide range of low or no sodium foods. You will be finding condiments, cereals, snacks, beverages, pasta, soups and more.

How it WorksIt is a fact that salt and sugar causes your appetite to increase. If these items are eliminated from your regular diet, you are more likely to lose weight.

The rice diet makes you consume very little calories to about a thousand each day. You can easily reduce your caloric consumption by limiting your intake of processed and fatty foods.

The diet has three phases:First PhaseThe first week of the diet focuses on detoxification. You will be consuming minimal amount of food and there is no salt or sodium to flavor them. Each day you will be consuming starches such as brown rice or quinoa. You can have vegetables and no-fat dairy in the six of the seven days. Fruit is only allowed once for this week.

Second PhaseThe second phase is the weight loss phase. You have to follow the same food plan as in phase one. Burt for the second phase, the vegetables and no-fat dairy are only allowed for five days per week. On the seventh day you can have a protein serving.

Third PhaseThe third phase is the maintenance phase. Your weight loss will be slowing down at this stage and you should be preparing yourself on ways to maintain and manage your new form. By this time, you can now increase your caloric intake by adding fish and other lean protein in your diet two times a week. You can also add tofu, cheese and nuts to your meal plans.
